On the published ESA map on the City's website, there is ESA all along Alderbridge between Garden City Road and No. 4 Road (Walmart land followed by supposedly natural park land). However, a city planner, in response to a question from Harold Steves at Council Meeting on March 9, 2012, said there isn't ESA on the Walmart land.

ESA = Environmentally Sensitive Area

The answer about Walmart ESA is available through the City's geographic information system (GIS), which shows that every lot along Alderbridge between Garden City Road and No. 4 Road includes ESA. That agrees with the city's ESA map. It does not agree with Brian Jackson, who responded to a Harold Steves question at the last council meeting by saying that the Walmart property along Alderbridge is not ESA. Maybe staff have given Walmart a permit to ignore the ESA without consulting council or ACE.  (source: Jim)
