what does de-growth mean?

Question

de-growth is a word meant to provoke thought:

• perpetual growth in a finite world is impossible;  it is time to rethink about "growth"
• we have reached "peak-Oil" and peak-a-lot-of-other-things; How shall we adapt?
• we want to live happily in good health;  that should be how we measure economic success
